Florida Happy Cows

(single photo only - no slide show)

Not long ago, I wrote about the California Happy Cows, which help promote our state's dairy industry.  I make no secret I love the exploitation of our cows who in their daily routine, actually talk, have opinions and thoughts about things - especially relating to their wonderful existence while dwelling in sunny California.

However, a bazaar California winter which has produced far too much "liquid" sunshine, led me to the conclusion I needed to work toward crossing one more thing off my "bucket list."  So Friday, I boarded United flight 6510 from Sacramento, on a first leg out of California on way to a warmer Florida.

At first, the plane skied moguls atop angry clouds, but soon found a comfortable pace in journey.  I slept fitfully along the way, while visions of another kind of cow danced in my head!

The Florida Happy Cows (Manatees) seen at the Mote Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida, certainly have a different appearance than cows normally seen in the California Happy Cow ads.  They are considerably longer, but perhaps have similar weight.  Adults average 10 feet in length or so.  The gentle giants of Florida, are a wonder to see, and worth paying a visit!

I'm in Sarasota today - but off to the Florida Keys, first thing in the morning.  I can only imagine the scenes along the way!
